Paul Hampshire
Managing Director
Paul has 30 years Insurance Industry experience covering most aspects of Personal and Commercial Insurance underwriting.
Paul began his career with Sun Alliance as a professional trainee in 1980 and for ten years worked in both the Insurance Company and Broker market before becoming General Manager of Groupama Accident & Health Division in the 90s based in the City of London and writing an account in excess of £35 million.
In 2001 Paul together with Brian Lambert set up a new Company Ultimate Insurance Solutions which has grown dramatically over the past decade as a Lloyds coverholder, claims handler and call centre operator with over 5 million customers through a number of well known national corporations. With over 60 staff based in their offices in Portsmouth Ultimate Insurance Solutions has now expanded the group to include Ultimate Pet Partners and Ultimate Insurance Company under the Ultimate HC umbrella.
Paul’s underwriting expertise and history of profitable relationships with affinity partners together with drive and energy will play a significant part in the growth and success of Ultimate Insurance Company.
Brian Lambert
Director
Brian began his insurance career in 1978 with MAI PLC progressing to National Sales Manager with AGF Insurance Group by 1994. He then became Operations Director with Rossborough Insurance Services in 1996 and became a Board Member of BDML Connect following a management buyout in 2000.
In October 2001 he acquired and re-launched Ultimate Insurance Solutions with his business partner Paul Hampshire who together have developed the business through product wholesale, underwriting and service provision. Brian has a wealth of experience in the general insurance sector.
Ian Rayland
Director
Ian has over 20 year’s insurance industry experience covering many different aspects of the business.
Ian began his career in 1988 with CIGNA after graduating from the University of Surrey with an Economics Degree. Following time in the marketing and Accident & Health department he joined GAN (Groupama) in 1991 as part of the team challenged with launching and developing an Accident & Health department for the company.
After a very successful spell Ian left his role as A&H Underwriting Manager with Groupama based in the City to work for a Lloyd’s syndicate, during this period he expanded his knowledge of the market still further. In 2000 Ian was the founding Director of Spectrum Underwriting Resources Limited a general insurance intermediary and specialist insurance management consultancy.
Ian joined Ultimate Insurance Company Limited at its inception and will be using his expertise and experience to help the company and its partners flourish.
Stuart Brown
Director
Stuart is a qualified FCCA accountant and prior to joining Aon, worked as an audit senior at Baker Tilly chartered accountants.
He specialised in insurance sector audits, and quickly realised the growth potential in this area. He took the opportunity to get more directly involved by joining Aon (Gibraltar) in 2005.
Since then Stuart has led on various projects to set up and manage some of the largest captives and commercial insurance companies in Gibraltar, a life insurance company and the first Gibraltar licensed pure reinsurance company.
Stuart overviews the accounting and finance functions across all of Aon Gibraltar's clients, which has allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the financial structure of a wide variety of insurance companies including pure captives, open market insurers or PCC structures. Stuart takes overall responsibility for the accounting team, allocating resources, prioritising, reviewing quality control, and ensuring all deliverables are achieved within deadlines.
Danny Gibson ACII
Non Executive Director
Danny spent the early part of his working life as a UK liability Underwriter in Lloyd's (Syndicate 55). In 1996 he moved to Octavian to be general liability underwriter for RE Brown Syndicate, 702, but following a number of changes to the ownership of the managing agency, Danny decided to change direction and went to work for an underwriting agency in North London in July 2000. Here he wrote a mixed portfolio of UK general liability business on behalf of a number of Lloyd's Syndicates.
Danny left in 2003 to set up Casualty & General Insurance Company (Europe) Ltd, a Gibraltar based insurer specializing in UK EL/PL business. He has been CEO of C&G since the company began underwriting in December 2003.
Danny was a member of the Lloyd's Non Marine Association EL Committee during his underwriting period at Lloyd's.
In his position of non-executive Director he adds a wealth of underwriting experience as well as local regulatory knowledge and independent challenge.
David Newman
Director
David has over 35 years experience as an insurance/reinsurance transactional specialist with a wealth experience in customer products, as well as the risk financing needs of major corporations. David is a member of both the Board of UIC, and it’s underwriting committee.
He started his career in the City of London where he spent 15 years, and he has spent the last 20 years with Aon in Gibraltar and the Isle of Man where he has held a number of Board positions with various insurers/reinsurers.
David is also Executive Chairman of Aon in Gibraltar.
